When I was young, we used to have smokey links often. Usually with macaroni and cheese. My Mom would butter the bread and put the smokey link inside the bread and close it up and the butter would melt and it was just so good.
Now, as adults, they’re not really easy to find, in fact, I can’t find them. I find Breakfast Links and something else and maybe that’s just what they’re called now. I miss them.
This post has nothing to do with Smokey Links. But it does have to do with links that I’m going to share with you, so read on:
First, I posted over here. Join me.
Second, I found this recipe for Hot Fudge Sundae Cupcakes and it’s all I can think about. Let me know if that happens to you, too.
Third, I’ve been trying new recipes with my family. I have discovered two super simple recipes from The Pioneer Woman that we absolutely LOVE. Grilled Chicken with Lemon Basil Pasta and Pasta with Tomato Cream Sauce. Try them, try them, you will see.
Fourth, if you use Blogger and want to post larger photos, Fabulous K has a great tutorial on how to achieve that.
Fifth, my sister and I went to Anthropologie in Indianapolis on Monday. I bought this bowl (among other beautiful things). It makes me happy.
Sixth:
Leave your link here to share your blog with others! Don’t be shy! Visit some new blogs, be inspired by others, share yourself! (just link up to your blog, no strings attached!)
And also…delurk. Tell me who you are! I received a comment last week that said “Beth, I’ve been reading your blog for years and have never commented.” and I thought “BUT! I want to know who you are! ” So, please, tell me who you are! I love reading about you!
Lastly: I have posted on my Beth Fletcher Photography blog! One post has new photos and the other is announcing my mini sessions. (which is the only time this year I will be offering these!) There are only two slots remaining!
Have a great day, friends.

FIrst – ADORABLE new profile photo!
Second – I might be mad at you about that Hot fudge sundae Cupcake. Such a thing should NOT even exist!
Third – I will try those recipes. I think I might have just printed them off last week…. but thought I would throw in my two cents on the PW meat loaf…. AHHHHHH-MAZING!!!!
I had seen a recommendation for the lemon pasta recipe before but not the tomato sauce one so will have to try out both of them. As I love cupcakes I am going to have to try out that recipe too. Most of all thank you for the link to the blog post on blogger, I have updated my post options and it is now so much better. Now all I need to do is get my blog site altered so there is more central space and I can post bigger photos
el oh el… {love you erin!}
Hi Beth,
My name is Kelsey and I haven’t been reading for that long, I think it was just before Eli was born. I don’t particularly comment anywhere much. I am not sure why, I just never have really been a “commenter.”
I came upon your blog through Jenny Scott’s, where I don’t think I’ve ever commented either. Well, man, I just sound like a real creeper, don’t I? haha.
Anyway, wanted to let you know that I am here, and although I may not comment often, I enjoy what you post
I love reading your blog! And yes, a trip to Anthropologie is good for the soul.
Hi!! I have entered your YOU CAPTURE a few times… Probably more with my photo blog. SO FUN!! ;D
Hi,
My name is Katrina and have been reading your blog for a couple years now. I think that I may have commented a couple of times but can’t remember. I love how honest you are with your thoughts and emotions.
Thanks for sharing your life with me. Oh and I really wish that I lived closer to you because I want to be friends with you and Stephanie! I love her blog too.
Beth – I follow your blog and your twitter updates. I enjoy your wit, honesty, and beautiful photos!
I wonder if smokey links are anything close to little smokies? I LOVE pigs-in-a-blanket made out of little smokies and crescent roll dough…mmm…I think I need to go to the grocery store now!
Beth,
Hi! I have been reading your blog for at least a year now. Your photography and blog are amazing. Thank you for sharing. =)
Thanks, guys! And no, I don’t mean lil’ smokies. These are smokey links, by Eckrich. They look like this: http://www.meijergroceryexpress.com/catalog/ProductDetail.aspx?pid=4660000800
And Arlen, maybe also look up harassment. Just an idea.
Man, now you have me wanting those!
Wrap them up in some puff pastry…. omnomnomnomnom….
Psssst…we want to see Anna’s haircut!
I’ve gotta say, your blog and tweets make me laugh. You draw me out of boringly serious moods, and I’m thankful for you. Laughing just feels good, you know?
I’m not sure how I found your blog, but have been reading for about a year. It is nice to read about wonderful friendships and the truthful struggles I also face with being a busy stay at home and then some momma.
I had smokey links as a kid too. Maybe it’s a Midwest thing. I remember my uncle moved to New York (from Michigan) and he said he couldn’t find smokey links in the New York stores. Anyhoo, I am a long time lurker and occasional comment poster. Seeing as we are talking recipes, last Christmas I made your peppermint bark (with the candy canes and white chocolate) and it was awesome.
I’ve been following your blog for a few months now. I think I found it when I was looking for photo challenges. I really enjoy photography and a few months ago was able to purchase my dream camera, a Canon Digital Rebel T1i. I’ve been blogging on my private blog for over 5 years, but I recently started my public photo blog to share my pics and get feedback, hoping to grow as a photographer.
Now that I see the link for smokey links, I know exactly what you are talking about. I buy them all the time for my son. We make them for breakfast. I get a can of biscuits, and smash a biscuit around the link and bake it in the oven…pigs in a blanket. My son “thinks” he has to have 2 of them every Sunday before church. I guess whatever motivates him to get his butt out of bed!
Why are you such a tool?
This, said, to the troll. Not Beth. Ahem.
For whatever reason, my response comment is way down here instead of underneath aforementioned troll. And my earlier comment is gone. *sniffles*
I am laughing soooooo hard right now!
Hi Beth! I’ve been reading for a few months but I don’t think I’ve ever commented. I came the first time with You Capture, but I stayed because I love your writing – it’s so real. And those pictures of your big-eyed baby are so cute. Hope you have a nice weekend!
