This morning, when I was taking the kids to school, we were talking about time and turning back time and I told them that for our next movie night, we would watch Back to the Future. I told them how it came out when Brian and I were much, much, (MUCH) younger. ”but is it in black and white, Mom? Because those shows are boring.” Anna asked. ”Yeah, those are boring,” Noah agreed.
And I thought back to all of the times I made jokes with my Mom about such things (okay, I still do) and how when I was little and saw a photo in black and white and I just assumed that everything was in black and white in real life. And now, here I am, my own kids making such comments.
Which just makes me extra glad that I chose a color for You Capture this week and it makes me extra glad that I chose such a wonderful, vibrant color. And hopefully I can take some time to browse your entries to try to pull myself out of this depression since finding out my kids think I’m 92.
I have orange lights on my porch, for Halloween.

and the sun last night was so wonderfully vibrant and orange and I just happened to have a session with The Cutest Family in the Entire World and so I was able to capture this shot, which just makes me a happy lady for a trillion reasons.
F 2.8 | ISO 200 | 1/4000 (50 mm lens)
But mostly because I really had such fun last night and this family won a session from me for “liking” Beth Fletcher Photography and also, what you can’t see? THE BIGGEST BLUE EYES EVER.
Now it’s your turn to share!

We watched back to the future the other day. It was fun, but I had forgotten just how much of the movie was devoted to getting into another person’s pants! I had lots of explaining to do….
HA! That’s hilarious.
Great photos!!
I LOVE that picture of your Halloween lights! It’s just beautiful!
You have inspired me to join the challenge this week for the first time! I need to get out there and snap some pictures, first.
Thanks for hosting!
Erin
Beautiful photos. I just love both of them.
Those porch lights are mesmerizing!! And the silhouettes- awesome. You’re so talented.
Your Back to the Future conversation is hilarious. Oh man. This annoying boy in Jr high used to call me McFly since my name is Martina he felt it necessary to shorten it to Marty, thus McFly. I hated it (and him) then, but now it might be kind of cool.
what beautiful shots! i love the sort of blurry lights, so great.
Oh my word that silhouette shot is gorgeous!!!
Thats funny – I used to look at black and white photos and think that real life was just black and white too. Boring world it must have been
Great choice for color. Love the sihouette shot!!

This is my first time participating and it seems you post a little earlier than I realized! I’ll be here a little sooner next time!
The silhouette is awesome!!
Back to the Future was out when I was in Junior High. Hubby and I still enjoy it to this day. One of the movies we watch over and over. Loved the kids’ comments about it.
Not sure what happened to my comment, but I really love your silhouette photo
Great shots! I love the lights. They definitely put me in a fall mood!
Awesome! This is my first time joining. I looked around the blog a bit and had a lot of fun. Nice style
