You know, the fact that I’m about to write about being “serene” and show you photos of “serene” is pretty funny to me because I’m not feeling very “serene.” Eli has an ear infection and I’m sick, too. I’ve started my uh…you know, period and it feels like a dump truck is driving around in my lady regions and also? Well, I’ll just stop there.
YOU GET THE IDEA.
But, in all honesty, there is a lot of good going on in my heart right now and it feels like it’s gently easing the discomfort of being sick and otherwise, so maybe this theme is perfect for today.
Last weekend, Eli’s Godparents drove here from Washington, D.C., while they were here I wanted to give them a photo session, a small thank you for being his Godparents and also making the long drive to Indiana.
My brother is being deployed for one year to Afghanistan in January, so this was extra special to me and I know these photos will be extra special to them, too.
And I caught serene. Thanks to the sun. Thanks, Sun! (and thanks super cute, fun and awesome family!) (and thanks incredible new camera!)

So, there you have it. Hopefully after a day of blowing my nose and taking naps and feeding a sick baby, I’ll come visit your sites for a little serenity. This is my hope.
Oh and I also hope you have a great day.
