Apparently, if I choose “outside” to be the You Capture subject then it will snow like crazy, causing a state of emergency and the temperature will plummet to subzero temperatures and you’ll never want to go outside just to freeze your jolly nutcrackers off and you’ll put it off until this morning when it’s warmed up to 19 degrees.
This morning, say about 35 minutes ago, I put on my boots, my hat and my coat over my pajamas, grabbed my best friend, The Camera and we headed out for an outdoor adventure. After a walking a good, I don’t know, maybe ten feet. I took these photos and ran back inside.

and guess what? I’m really happy with these shots. Which is the beauty of You Capture. Had I not picked “outside” as the assignment, we wouldn’t have these photos.
So, three cheers for You Capture!
or not. Whatever.
Now it’s your turn to share!
PLEASE READ THIS GUIDELINES, especially, yes, especially if you have never linked up!
1. Anyone can join in on the challenge at anytime.
2. Please make sure the photos you use were taken for the challenge, meaning do not search your archives for an appropriate photo. The goal of You Capture is to get you out taking photos each week!
3. Use YOUR photos.
4. When linking up, only link to your You Capture blog post, not your main blog URL. (incorrect links will be deleted.)
5. You MUST link back to You Capture in your post.
6. I encourage you to visit other participants and leave comments. This is a great way to meet new friends!

Happy Capturing!

These pictures are really pretty, but I wish I was looking at them from a sunny beach somewhere instead of knowing that I’ll have to walk back out in the cold and snow again soon.
[...] I had no intentions of going outside. [...]
Thank you, thank you, thank you for doing You Capture and for picking Outside!! First of all, it makes me look at everything through the lens of a camera and I love that! Second, I know I wouldn’t have gone to the trouble to go outside in the cold and capture these pictures had there not been a You Capture where I could share them. My husband looked at me getting all bundled up this morning and said, “There is no way I could drag you outside early in the morning, but for a picture you’ll go!”
Thanks for pushing me outside of my comfort zone – not physically, but by offering a way for us to share.
I love your berry shot!!
Your photos are always beautiful, and I’m so very impressed that you shot these this morning.
[...] you want to see what other You Capture participants saw OUTSIDE this week, be sure to follow that link and have a gander. You’ll see some amazing [...]
LOVE the colors in your pics this week!
You’re so funny! They are both great shots! Cheers!
LOL!!! Fantastic shots! Challenge accepted….I will go outside & see what I can capture…..btw it’s a balmy -18C here (-0.333 F – guess I could’ve just said 0F).
It’s been a bit cold here this week too, but we don’t have any snow! Lovely photos!
I was hesitant to post my outside shots this week. There is no snowy goodness here. (Is it okay to say that? I just talked to my dad in the snowy tundra of Minnesota where they’ve net 30 inches of snow, “And winter hasn’t even officially started!”) But I have found some bits of faded loveliness, not so terribly unlike your gorgeous second shot. And I love the pops of color in the first!
Love these! We’ve had snow here in Germany too but nowhere near as much as all of that! I still managed to get the last of my christmas shopping done out in the snow
I love the shots! Does this mean I should put on my coat and go outside? Because I don’t want to. What if I shot from my balcony? That counts, right?
I looove the bright red berries in that 1st shot and the texture is gorgeous too. This is my 1st time linking up to you for You Capture, and I braved the sleet for it! Thanks for the inspiration..I needed it!
I didn’t want to go outside in the cold either…..but you’re right – I was glad I took the photos I did. Thanks for continuing to host You Capture and encouraging us to shoot!
Yep, I say pretty darn good for 10 minutes time! That first one is brilliant with the pops of bright red. So lovely…
Those are beautiful!
These are really stunning shots!
That second picture is just wonderful! Of course, both are great, but I love the soft mood of the second.
Love the tones of that second one! I’m with you…I walked out in my yard, snapped really quick, and ran back inside. Tooo. Cooold.
I was beginning to wonder if I would ever get outside to take pictures, because it was so cold, but like you, I finally managed.
Your last minute photos turned out wonderfully!
Three Cheers for You Capture, indeed!!
[...] in time for Beth’s challenge to photograph “Outside,” Mother Nature gave us our first snow! We bundled up, stepped out into the snow, to crunch over [...]
I’m glad you chose “outside.” I was dreading going outside these past few days because of the windchill here in D.C., but then, just in time for your challenge, it snowed! So, I managed to take a few photos before my little guy (age 15 months) melted down and insisted we head back inside.
I love the play of light and dark in that second photo. Awesome!
Well it is anything but wintry here – yesterday afternoon it was 75F and sunny. Your second picture is just beautiful. I am taking a blogging hiatus but hope to be back in the New Year from a photography perspective. Until then I shall visit everyone else and see what they have been up to this week.
these are fantastic. worth the frigid temps i’d say.
Lovely!!!
these are great.
I see why you’re really happy with your photos because they are BEAUTIFUL! Wow! Can I have your talent?
And maybe, I love the story of your going out to capture them as much as I love the photos themselves! Great post!
Wow those are absolutely beautiful!!
Steph

I just found your blog and love it!
Your pics are stunning!
Love the photos – they make me (almost) wish we had a little more winter here in the Pacific Northwest… I’m still capturing rosebuds here in Oregon!
