It’s Giveaway Day | A scarf by Stephanie

January 31st, 2011

Yep. THE Stephanie from Adventures in Babywearing, she knit a scarf for me to give away to one lucky winner. And I don’t mean to freak you out or anything but I probably wore it around the house for a little while  because I couldn’t handle the cuteness of this scarf. It was taunting me with all of it’s awesomeness.

So, if you win. I’m sorry. I couldn’t help it.

scarf-1

You don’t blame me, right?

What do you need to do to win?

1. If you could learn any hobby, which hobby would you choose? Knitting? Baking? Photography? Scrapbooking?

2. Do not say “PICK ME.”

3. Tweet, Facebook or blog about this giveaway and leave each individual link in the comments. Four ways to win!

PLEASE NOTE – Many comments go under moderation. If you do not see your comment show up immediately, IT’S OKAY. It will show up. Pinky swear.

Good luck!

This giveaway is open to US residents only! One winner will be chosen randomly. The comments for this post will close February 1, 2011 at 2:00 pm CST.

Oh, I’ve dabbled in every hobby. I need time and money.

First and foremost would be photography – you can’t beat capturing life like that, imo.

I love scrapbooking too…and would love to have the time to explore that creative outlet.

I’ve never tried knitting, but I always wish I knew how.

But, if I had to pick ONE hobby to be fantastic at? Photography. Fo sho’

Yay Stephanie! I really want to learn more about photography, I am light years ahead of my first point and shoot but I REALLY want a SLR now and want to learn more. I love to scrapbook but I never have time, unfortunately, and I am probably moving more toward digital scrapbooking now because it’s easier to do in small pieces. I would like to learn how to use InDesign to do that!

That scarf is beautiful!! I knit right now but I’d like to be better at it. And I’d like to learn how to crochet too

I have started so many hobbies over the years, but the one I feel most bad about not continuing is quilting. I started a quilt for my son and in his closet it sits, in pieces. I should really get to that…

I really wish that I could garden. I do plant some annuals every spring but by 4th of July, my gardens are a mess. I would love to be a better photographer too and actually know how to use my DSLR!

I would definitely love to improve my photography skills – specifically learning how to use all those features on my SLR camera. And, I would LOVE to learn how to knit…someday…

If I could have any hobby, it would be knitting. I just can’t wrap my mind around it. Or painting. I seem to have a problem with my hands making things. I can be a photographer and push a button, framing with my eye, but I can’t make things with my hands and that makes me sad.

If I could do any hobby – it might be jewelery making. I have tired it and I do not have the patience for it at all. I could save a lot of money IF I could do it! Oh and hand stamped jewelery would be the route I would want to take. :)

I want to learn to knit or crochet and I want to learn applique (to add to my quilts) and embroidery for the same reason. Knitting and crocheting would be so much cheaper and faster than quilting by hand! And there is this adorable little shop in our town called The Whole Nine Yarns and that alone is enough reason to go in!

I would love to know how to sew…better. I have a mountain of clothes that need hemmed, mended, whatever. But thats not what i mean. I want to be creative. To make cute outfits for my little girl. To make matching curtains and pillows. To make beautiful, brightly colored quilts. Thats what i would wish for…

I would love to be able to paint. Not like painting walls in my home but art. Beautiful artistic painting with meaning. Seeing as how I don’t have an artistic bone in my body, should I ever get the opportunity to pick up a hobby it would most likely be knitting or crocheting.

I’m a full-time teacher, so there’s no way I could possibly spend time on all the hobbies I’d like to learn (of which there are THOUSANDS), but photography and sewing are at the top of the list. Think of the money I could save if I made my own curtains, napkins, dishtowels, whatever!

What a beautiful scarf – love the color!

I want to learn to sew. I got a machine for Christmas several years ago and, sadly, it’s only been used once. By a friend of mine :)

I’m lucky in that my partner got me sewing classes at a local shop for Solstice this year. I’m so excited! 5 hours of instruction over two nights later this month. Yay! I’m hoping it gets me off to a strong start.

Oh I would love to win a scarf made by Stephanie! I wish she would sell her stuff…I wouldn’t mind if there was a button added to hide an imperfection!

I know how to knit but I’m not very good. When Stephanie says she knits while watching TV online I get jealous…my knitting takes every ounce of my concentration!

I love that scarf. Hmmm I would love to be better at gardening. We have a large yard and it is always a mess, I would love to make it more beautiful. I would also love love to grow some vegetables and herbs. I’ve tried studying up on the subject and I always get overwhelmed. Thanks for hosting the contest!

I am currently taking a photography class to improve and learn how to better use my camera.

But, if I could learn any hobby it would be knitting. Not sure why, but I’ve tried several times and just cannot get it. My mom has tried to teach me, but each time it is an utter fail. My brain just doesn’t get it.

I would love to win since I have no chance of ever being able to create a homemade scarf myself.

I wish I could knit/crochet. So many beautiful things could be made! But I haven’t had the patience or time to figure it out. Hopefully some day.

I’d also like to be able to take great pictures. I always see things when I’m driving and think “Wow, that’d be an awesome picture!” But I don’t even have a working camera. :( Dropped it on the cement and haven’t had the extra funds to fix or replace it. Super boo.
