Happy New Year, friends! I hope this year has started out with a bang for all of you. In our house, we are trying to recover from the holidays, we are all so sleepy. Are we alone? Are you guys tired, too?
Onto the good stuff! Here are my top ten favorites photos from 2010. (also known as: some of my favorite photos of 2010!)
There you have it! Ten of my favorite photos from 2010. (no need to count…move along…)
In 2010, I made a commitment to photography, I started shooting in manual only, I learned techniques that I never knew existed and I decided that it was time to fulfill my dream of being a professional photographer. I learned that just because you have a nice camera, that doesn’t make you a “photographer” and it certainly doesn’t make you a “professional.” There is so much to learn and I’m so proud of so happy that I was able to accomplish all that I’ve accomplished but mostly…
I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE FUTURE.
Set your photography goals, be flexible and practice.
In 2011, I will be more technical and challenge you even further artistically.
I hope you’re as excited as I am about the upcoming year!
Now it’s your turn to share! But first:
PLEASE READ THIS GUIDELINES, especially, yes, especially if you have never linked up!
1. Anyone can join in on the challenge at anytime.
2. Please make sure the photos you use were taken for the challenge, meaning do not search your archives for an appropriate photo. The goal of You Capture is to get you out taking photos each week!

These are all so stunning and sweet and amazing – I am so loving the bassinet shot!
Beth, your entries all made me smile. Especially the second one, which appears to be Toy Story come to life! I’m so glad you do this AND share your family with us. That shot of Eli and Brian is priceless, too. And the bed picture just exudes peace and tranquility. Thanks for keeping this going. I look forward (gulp) to a more-technical 2011.
Thank you SO much for hosting this Beth! I have learned so much about my camera and have found a new, very relaxing hobby that allows me to capture life around me so I don’t forget. Thank you for that gift.
I adore the photo of “Jessie” and “Buzz” at the side of the crib – priceless! The bassinet shot is also stunning.
Oh these are all so precious! Beautiful photos and gorgeous memories! I hope 2011 brings many more blessings to you and your family!
I love the bassinet and of course, I adore the last shot.

Great photos. I LOVE the last one. Gorgeous!
Love all of these, I am so proud of you for stepping out of your comfort zone and shooting manual. I still sometimes can’t seem to get the focus clear enough, so I hope to improve in 2011 too!

Happy New Year Beth, love your 10 best pictures of last year. You are an amazing photographer.
These are all amazing. But I really loved your silhouette shots this year. They are just stunning. And that last photo just makes me melt into a puddle. So, SO beautiful.
I need to actually learn more about my camera this year, that is a goal of mine. I just put it in “no flash” mode and take pics and sometimes I get “lucky”. I don’t know anything about ISO or aperture or all that other stuff. I just haven’t taken the time…
Thanks for hosting You Capture Beth. It’s such an inspiration and FUN too!
I LOVE the ones you chose.
Steph

Thank you so much for doing You Capture week after week. I have already learned so much about my camera because of you and you’ve given me a reason to get out and capture things I probably never would have otherwise! Bring on the challenges — I can’t wait to learn more!
Beautiful beautiful beautiful times ELEVEN!!
Glad I wasn’t the only one that couldn’t narrow it down to 10, infact, I had 11 too! Shhhhhhhh
You are amazing at capturing the moment. I think my favorite is Buzz & Woody.
Your pictures are amazing ! They are so moving, a show of your year.
What a wonderful variety of beautiful, meaningful photos! I couldn’t possibly pick a favorite but I’m partial to ‘the miracle of Eli’ pictures!
Have just discovered your blog and “You Capture” Thank you for running such a brilliant blog event with so many lovely women checking each others work out!
I am absolutely exhausted lately, too!!

I hope one day to be able to get more into photography – Maybe I’ll work on that some time this year!
All so gorgeous, of course!
I am so wanting to take my photography to the next level. You are such an inspiration! Keep the challenges coming, and keep us on our toes!
(After a long hiatus, I’m ready to join in the fun again!)
Oh Beth…you are a blessing. What you have captured with your camera this year is…more than moments. More than an instant. It is hope and life and beauty and pain and joy and all the reasons why I am so glad this is your career. It is your gift, to us, to the world and especially to those of us lucky enough to be captured by you.
xoxo
Beautiful images. The one with Buzz and Jesse struck a special chord here. My boys (2&4) had to know who was in the crib…Woody? Rex? Hamm?
You take such amazing photos, they are just so gorgeous.
And thank you for You Capture, I know it is a lot of work, but it has made me use my camera more thoughtfully.
Love you,
ZW
Your photo’s are incredible…each and every one of them. I am going to join you and all of these other amazing people here with your weekly challenges…and even though I am no where near the level that you are…I am hoping to grow, learn and use my camera more this year. Thanks for hosting these challenges!
I love all of your favorite 2010 photos, it really seems to sum up the year you had! They are amazing!
You take such stunning photos! I love the pic of Eli and I’m guessing his dad…I just love the look on his little face. So sweet! I too want to work on shooting a lot of photos in manual mode. I don’t care for the way photos look when you can tell a flash has been used.
2010 was the year that I feel I truly became a photographer – learned to trust my insticts, learned to shoot in manual, learned to look for light. 2011 is the year that I am truly going to become professional. Changes have already been made (new website, not on blogger, yay! http://www.mischiefandlaughs.com) and new policies. Hopefully my fledgling business will grow along with yours.
Love the pictures! Thank you so much for challenging those of us at home! I began shooting manually only in November and am finding myself daily growing as an artist. I love the shot of the kids jumping at sunset — priceless! Thanks again! Happy 2011 to you!
I don’t think I have commented here before. Actually I am not sure I’ve read much here, before today. I love your photography! You have true talent!
Thanks for sharing!
