It’s 11:35. Way past coffee o’clock for me. I’m sitting at my table, next to Eli. He’s having a lunch of wheat bread, cheese, carrots and apples. I’m joining him by eating an apple and drinking water.
He’s surprisingly picky when it comes to eating apples. If you give him anything other than a red delicious, he reacts as if you’ve stuck an entire lemon in his mouth.
After each handful of food I place on his tray, I get up and wash my hands so I don’t get food on my laptop.
Oh, this week, I got a new laptop. My laptop never did survive beerspillpalooza of 2010, so after many attempts at bringing that sucker back to life, we sort of shrugged and said “now what?‘
And Brian shrugged back and was like “WHAT? You are not getting a new laptop.” (the nerve of that man.)
So, I picked up a few sponsorships that happened to fall in my lap and well, hello, dreamy laptop. (I assure you, it was not that simple, I’m just trying to be uh…simple.)
This week has been one of the absolute strangest weeks of my life. From numerous personal things that have occurred, to a blizzard, to my kids being home with me for 58.3 hours straight and then Eli getting sick … it’s just been … NOT SO NORMAL.
(more food. wash hands. food on floor. baby is done. I am not.)
Elijah has a doctor’s appointment at 4:15 today, his sleep is past the poor stage and his clinginess is impressive and while I’m talking about Eli, let me tell you that his big brother (or his “big bro”) is seriously amazing. He follows him around, crawls with him, does just about anything to make him happy. It’s so beautiful.
Tomorrow, Brian and I are going on a day/night date. My birthday is approaching, so tomorrow we are heading into the city to visit all of my favorite stores (Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, a Bobbi Brown counter, Victoria Secret and maybe H&M.) Not necessarily to buy, but to peruse. Perusing is so fun when you’re on a date and not with kids. And even more fun when perusing turns to buying. (shhhh…don’t tell Brian I said that. Don’t worry, I’ll share my finds with you, friends!)
And then, we’ll have dinner.
Tonight, I’ll be surrounded by friends.
Tomorrow morning, snuggled with my littles.
I can’t wait. For all of it.
Happy Friday, friends.
Giveaway winners announced this weekend. Sorry for the delay: personal stuff, blizzard, kids home from school and sick baby. You understand, right?
