I’m sitting on the couch, drinking coffee, hanging out with my three amazing kids.
Anna has recently discovered coupons. She cuts them out and is storing them in one of her (six million) bags. The thing about Anna is that she keeps everything from Happy Meal boxes to plastic strawberry containers. I’ll go into her room and find hair ties in a strawberry container sitting on her dresser. The problem is that she dumped out a nice looking basket of hair ties to be able to use the strawberry container.
Recently, she printed out a crossword puzzle and completed it and left me a note on the paper that read:
Don’t throw away. I know Mom, you will. No affence, clearly. There. I said it.
I like to throw things away. She does not. By the way, I kept that piece of paper for at least three weeks. It just sat there, mocking me. She never touched it. Finally, I threw it away. She’s never mentioned it.
Noah is watching Spongebob, occasionally he’ll hop down from the couch and play with Eli.
Eli is driving a car on my laptop. You can imagine how fun that is.
And the baby in my belly? THAT I CAN FINALLY TALK ABOUT?! Well, he/she is the size of a large plum, which I find to be very, very cute. I’m so excited to have finally announced our news with you. It’s funny because we kept it a secret for so long. We just told Anna and Noah two weeks ago, so this pregnancy was pretty much not real. Every two weeks we’d have an appointment with my specialist in Chicago, we’d see this baby on the screen, the excitement was amazing.
Then we’d come home and well, it seemed not real again. Not anymore. Especially since I already look 18 weeks pregnant. And no, I’m not joking about that. I made the full transition into maternity clothes just before leaving for Florida.
Tomorrow is Eli’s birthday celebration with our family. We are so excited to have family come into town to celebrate this sweet little boy. Which means I have a little too much to do to be on this computer but I just wanted to stop in and say thank you for making our announcement so fun.
People coming out of lurkdom (love that!), friends from near and far, longtime readers, other pregnant Mamas, it was such a joyous day. THANK YOU!
Wishing you all a fun, family-filled, restful weekend. And have a piece of cake for Eli, okay?
Happy Friday, friends!
