Hi friends. I hope you all had a great day celebrating Mother’s Day. (whether you’re a Mama or not.) Mine was sweet, very sweet.
I had a newborn session last Thursday and never once did I consider taking a photo of the baby with her Mama. How perfect would that have been? Think, Beth. THINK!
Oh well.
I have photos of a different variety.
First, this sweet Mama bird on our front door wreath. She’s a Mama to five little birdies. The fact that she’s on our door makes us extremely nervous, but we’ve taken many, many precautions to ensure their safety. I plan to blog about it soon. (which means I probably won’t but I’ll try.)

And then there’s the seed my boy planted for his Mama which begin to sprout yesterday morning. And just look at how it grew by the afternoon. Right before my eyes. Just like a child.

This photo opportunity really spoke to me. It’s my bed, all nice and made. With Anna’s toys strewn about. When I went upstairs, she was nowhere to be found, just her toys in the spot where she left them. I don’t know why but I loved finding these toys on my bed that day. (I love even more that she cleaned them up without me asking her to do so!) (which is quite unlike my sweet baby girl.) (who leaves trail of toys where ever she goes.) (and forgets to pick them up.) (despite me asking her to 22 times.)

ANYWAY.
Here’s a shot of the kids and I on Mother’s Day. Although I did not hit the shutter button. I did set up the shot, set the settings and instruct Brian where to put the focus. So. It counts. Yes it does. Don’t argue with me.

I really want to comment on how my large calves and my double chin are a sign of motherhood. But I won’t. Even though I just did. But it doesn’t count. No it doesn’t. Don’t argue with me.
Now it’s your turn to share!

hehe.. what a cute shot! I have to do the same for my husband, although half the time I just throw it in auto mode and let him go to town. Glad you had a wonderful Mother’s Day! It’s my first time linking up, love your photography!
What a lovely portrait of you and your kids. They look so happy, and isn’t that what motherhood is all about?
Hi Beth! I would definitely keep an eye on your bird, and if she starts acting aggressive have your kids use the back door. When I was little we had a bird make a nest in our porch light, and she would dive-bomb my mother’s head every time she came out of the house. It was hilarious at the time though!
Got it, thanks, Joanna. We’ve actually taped off our front door (inside and out) and put signs up for deliveries. No one is even allowed to be on the porch!
Beautiful last shot Beth! Love it!
Beautiful and sweet portrait.
Beautiful and sweet portrait
That’s too funny, we have a nest with three baby sparrows on our front door wreath
We’ve been using the back door for a month
You look so happy with those kids! Love it! And you have such great hair. I love the style.
Sweet story and photo with the toys too.
Happy belated Mother’s Day, I had a good one as well.
Such a beautiful picture!
Beautiful photos, I did the same thing for my family shot, except I made my brother click the button and forced the hubs to get in there with me.
I love that robin on your front door. We have a momma dove just outside our back door that has her nest in one of our pine trees. We can see her from our kitchen window, and get really excited when her babies hatch and make their happy racket (she’s nested in the same tree for the last 3 years).
Hope you had a happy Mother’s Day! : )
Beth – You are absolutely stunning!!
beautiful family! happy {belated} mother’s day to you!

you are gorgeous, beth!!
I love the look on Eli’s face! Sweet picture!
I love the look on Eli’s face. Sweet pic!!!!
Love the pics. I can’t get over how pretty your room is and how your bed is always made…not that mine isn’t…ahem. Also, I can’t believe your Robin made a nest there! That’s crazy! My Robin has 3 babies, and since she’s right on our porch, I can sit in my recliner and watch their tiny little beaks poke out of the nest when mama comes to feed them. So cool!
Great pictures AGAIN! I especially like the robin and I especially LOVE the picture of those children and their beautiful mother. Nice!
am a bit late linking up but made it in a very busy week. Love your motherhood shots …. a great peek into your life
Love the variety in your Motherhood shots
… that last shot of you all is just beautiful.
