You Capture – Summer Sunsets or Back to School

September 8th, 2011

Hi friends!

I hope you had success this week! It’s so important to head out with your camera on a mission, it’s not just good for honing in on your photography skills but it’s also good for your soul to be doing something towards something you’re passionate about!

My kids went back to school about two weeks ago. We are back in the same routine as last year, just trying to work out kinks with new teachers and new ways of doing things.

Mostly having to do with homework:

I tried catching a good photo of the kids before school yesterday, with backpacks and lunch boxes and cute hair but we waited a little bit too long because suddenly we heard the squeaks of the bus, so off they went.

I was so close.

But they’re still cute.

(after this shot, I delighted in the next seven hours of no one asking me to use my iPad, to play the Wii, to go to the neighbor’s house to go to the other neighbor’s house, to have a popsicle, to have a piece of gum …)

Oh and no summer sunsets for me. DANGIT.

Now, it’s your turn to share! Just please read the following guidelines firsts!

PLEASE READ THIS GUIDELINES, especially, yes, especially if you have never linked up!
1. Anyone can join in on the challenge at anytime.
2. Please make sure the photos you use were taken for the challenge, meaning do not search your archives for an appropriate photo. The goal of You Capture is to get you out taking photos each week!
3. Use YOUR photos.
4. When linking up, only link to your You Capture blog post, not your main blog URL. (incorrect links will be deleted.)
5. You MUST link back to You Capture in your post.
6. I encourage you to visit other participants and leave comments. This is a great way to meet new friends!
{more You Capture info can be found here.}

Apples.

(this is ridiculously fun for me, the idea of all of us shooting the same thing. BE. CREATIVE.)

In my opinion, the running picture DEFINES back to school. Great candid shot!

And no summer portraits here either (booooooo!) Why did the summer fly by so fast?

I hope you are in less pain, feel healthy, and have a huge smile on your face today Beth.

I love the homework picture the most – so serious, so dedicated, so black and white! And there’s something really reminiscent about kids running for the bus. (I wonder if that might have happened to us a few times.) Anyway, I love how the rush is so apparent in the blowing hair, running feet and lean angle of their bodies.

How cool is the motion of the shot of them running to the bus? Very cool if you as me!!

And I hear ya on the homework. We have a lot too! And it’s only 2nd grade! Ack!

Even though you say you “missed” the shot before school, I have to say, I disagree!! I honestly think it’s such a great shot, I just love it. Oh and of course, I love the picture of little Noah working so hard on his homework. He’s so good.

These are wonderful back to school pictures! Hopefully, you’ll get to go out and see a summer sunset yet before the baby comes. I’d like to invite you to my blog to participate in “My Seven Links.”

I love the shot you got of them running to the bus! Because if THAT doesn’t sum up School Mornings, I don’t know what does :)

The running for the bus shot is classic “back to school”.

The running picture is the BEST. It defines what it is like to have school children. They go fast! It goes by fast! My daughter is a senior in high school. It was just yesterday she was running off for her first day. :-) Great capture!
