Improving your photos

September 28th, 2012

One of my favorite things about reading blogs is really just looking at beautiful photos. It’s perfect for my mind when I can finally just sit and be able to look at something beautiful and not just try to read words. Sometimes reading words is so hard. (leave me alone, it’s true.)

Eli 3280

I can remember in my early, early days of blogging (remember, I’ve been blogging for 923 years) visiting blogger’s websites and oooohing and aaaahing over their photos and wishing I could take something even a tenth as beautiful as their photos.

Eli 3285

So, I worked and worked and worked and now feel pretty comfortable behind the camera, (definitely not in FRONT of the camera, OHMYGODHELPME.)  I feel comfortable shooting in all lighting conditions, even at night, without a flash, like the photos of Eli you see here. (he’s even cuter in person, I swear to you.)

Clickin’ Moms asked me to review an eBook they are offering (it cost just FIFTEEN BUCKS, I mean, c’mon, I’ve paid for a plate of french fries that were more expensive than that. I’m not proud of it people, I’m just sayin’.) It’s called Blast into the Blogosphere: Simple Steps to Improve Your Blog Photography. It’s 40 pages and contains easy to read instruction and beautiful and inspiring imagery.

This eBook is for individuals who blog and who would like to improve their own photos. Basic yet eye-opening tips on simple things you can do to improve your photography. Truthfully, I wish I had something like this so many years ago.

Now, I know some of you think that you’re pretty darn good behind your camera, which is true, you are, but the truth is, you can be better. And also, you should always, always be finding ways to learn new things when it comes to photography, there is so.much.to.learn.

So this? A perfect tool, an easy read and an awesome way to gain knowledge in an area we can all improve.

Eli 3317

And it’s just fifteen bucks.

So. Go. And enjoy.

(and also, even you don’t blog but enjoy taking photos, still a great purchase, I highly recommend this to anyone with a camera.)

Oh and while we are still sitting here chatting, here’s a link to a post I wrote on the Clickin’ Moms blog.

Okay, that’s all. Happy Friday, friends.

Thanks for the book review. I’m definitely going to check this out. I love looking at photos and would love to have my photos on my blog look a bit better. I always compare my pictures to how good some other bloggers are (including yours!)

So… I read this post last night before bed but did not comment.

And then I dreamed that I was in one of your photo workshops and I was late and you still hugged me. ;-D

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that you are always inspiring my own photography journey and that I think you are amazing behind the camera.

    xo

At night without a flash and they look like that? YES PLEASE! That is honestly what I want to learn to do most. I love natural light and yet so many times my images are blurry (and I have a fabulous camera, so I know it is me).
You are an AWESOME photographer. I love all your photos and these are just gorgeous.

If there were ever a reason to improve my photography, you provided it with the pictures you included in this post! Wow! Okay, I’ll head over there a little later. (Don’t let me forget.)

Does the FOLDINGLAUNDRY coupon code still work? I tried to register, but it still showed up as full price.

I love how you capture those every day moments. I feel like I’m right there, waiting in line to brush my teeth! :)
