Jodi at Fruit Inspection tagged me to show you my handbag.  Man, these internets are nosey.

Which is all fine and good except my handbag may appear a little boring. 

Except it’s not.  It’s THE GREATEST PURSE EVER IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD.  I just wish it were a little cuter.  But the straps are the perfect length, and there is only one big pocket, but it’s not too big and there are these side pockets that are very slim and perfect.  And I’ve had this purse since October which means it has earned the "Longest I’ve Used The Same Purse EVER" award. 

It’s so divine that one of my friends searched HIGH AND LOW for the same exact purse, on-line, in stores and could never find it.  In fact, on two occasions I caught her trying to leave with my purse.  Well, it just so happens, while shopping in Bloomington, Illinois on Saturday, I found the purse for her and bought it.  I called her on Sunday and she came to pick it up right away.  It’s that awesome.

And what makes it even special-er is that I bought it at Target for twenty-two big ones.  allay-loo-yer.

The items I used the most.  Wallet.  Carmex, because I am addicted.  A nail file because I have the weakest nails in the universe, but I like to at least make it look like I am fairly groomed in that area.  Steers the eye away from the hair in my armpits.  Oh!  The lip gloss is from Victoria Secret and I LOVE it.  I bought it last June, which means I don’t get out much or it lasts a long time.  I heart hand lotion and the silver tube of lipstick is a fantastic lip moisturizer from Sensaria.  It’s not waxy and doesn’t have a taste, it’s great for kids.  And the eye drops for when my contacts are all itchy.

Ah!  The side pocket O’ health!  Points calculator, weight tracker, hand wipes and my trusty ol’ iPod for when I think about going to the gym, but never do.  But you know, just in case.

4. What is your favorite TV show?   Grey’s Anatomy  (but I love Sex & The City, and Will &  Grace reruns and American Idol, I used to always watch Oprah, but not so much right now.) 

5. What did you have for breakfast?   Well, technically I ate late and it was also my lunch, but we had some medical stuff to take care of today, so I had a sausage, egg and cheese croissant from Dunkin Donuts while sitting in a waiting room, the first such sandwich I’ve had since 2001!

your favorite cuisine? Italian.  (is that what "they" mean by cuisine?  no idea.  I also have no idea who "they" is.)

Five Reasons Why I Blog

1.  I originally started blogging because I pictured myself sharing my thoughts (insight?) on events that occur in life.  I saw myself, all-Carrie Bradshaw-like, sitting in my Versace dress, with my Dolce & Gabbana’s on, at my computer desk,  eating an apple, while typing intently, until Big calls me.  But instead, I’m in my pj’s, wearing socks and glasses, eating nachos, sitting on my couch, with my laptop on my lap, listening to my kids breathe through the baby monitors.  funny how things work out.

2.   I blog because I like the idea of people logging onto my site and being happy that I posted.

3.  It’s a great way to record things that have occured.  I can’t tell you how many times I have gone back to my "blogging records" to see when something happened.  (it’s great for those whose memory is slowly fading.) 

4.  It’s a great place to vent.  And share wonderful things.

5.   If I can, just once in awhile, bring a little smile to your face?  That’s why I blog.

I’ve been tagged by Just Peachy to tell you five things about me.  Although I just did a meme with the same theme, who doesn’t have more than five things to tell about themselves??  By the way, Just Peachy was nominated for the Share the Love awards for Most Inspiring.  A very deserving nod in her direction!

FIVE THINGS ABOUT ME

1.  Yesterday, I went to Target for basic essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, Tide, etc.  I had three coupons I wanted to use.  During my check out I showed my coupons to my cashier and put them down in front of her.  I want to make sure I used them because 1.  They are expiring on January 31st and I know I will not need to spend another $10 in toilet paper before then.  and 2. We’re talking about seventy five whole cents, here.  So, she rings me up and forgets to scan my coupons.  Of course, she does. So, she has to call a manager.  I almost said "just forget it" but…see the 2 reasons above.  So, they do a post void and I’m out.  Then last night, I check my account, because I’m obsessive like that, I am have $1.16 in my account.  Target has charged me for $90 and $89.  And I have a $39 check out….

2.  I sometimes wish I worked.  That way, on days that I am sick, like
today, I could call off of work, send my kids to day care and lay on
the couch ALL DAY LONG.  Is there something wrong with that?  Instead,
I’m awake, with my bra and shoes on, make-up on my face, hair pulled
back with a kleenex sticking out of my nose because my nose will not
stop running andRacecar just pooped in his underwear.  But in reality, I know as a working mom, I would drag myself to work because I have to save my sick days for when my kids are sick, not me.  I’m no fool.

3.  I love graphic tees from Old Navy.  They’re made of Pima Cotton and they rock my world.  I even bought one to wear to bed at night.  They’re that awesome.

4.  I buy too many shirts in this color scheme.  MUST.STOP.MYSELF.  And
my kids
witnessed me taking pictures of the clothes in my closet, I’m
pretty sure they are going to need therapy because of it.  I can just hear
them saying to a future therapist "…and my Mom used to take pictures of
her clothes in her closet with a kleenex sticking out of her nose."

5.  I used to play softball for years and years.  Since I was six.  I was a catcher.  I caught every foul ball that was anywhere near me (and beyond).  My nickname was Jody Davis. 

6.  (six because #1 doesn’t count.)  I have an MRI on Wednesday, a scan on my brain to rule out reasons why I’m having so many headaches.  My biggest fear is that I’ll have to sneeze…because I have sneezed eleventy thousand times just today.   Please God.  No sneezing on Wednesday between 10 and 11, m, kay?

7.  (seven because I don’t know when to shut-up)  On Friday, I am going out of town.  My girlfriend Lynette and I are going childless to visit my sister in Louisville for the weekend.  Drinking.  Shopping.  Eating.  Bunco.  word to yo’ mutha.
