Overwhelmed

August 18th, 2008

Sometimes, in a single weekend, I experience, feel and see so much love and beauty, that by the end of the weekend I am so tired, I can barely keep my eyes open, I can hardly move.

That is what I call a very, very good weekend.  I am so grateful to have not only experienced what we have this weekend, but also for the pictures that I have to help me remember.

Photo Contest

August 2nd, 2008

5 Minutes for Mom is having a summer fun photo contest, here’s my submission, I could win $500, and I could certainly use $500 since our washer is dead, the air in our car went out and our house flooded…not to mention that gas is $700 per gallon.  good times.

Does this shot look like summer fun to you?  Isn’t anything more summer than watching fireworks on the fourth of July with cousins?  I think not.

I’m almost out of excuses

July 28th, 2008

I know what you must be thinking when you come to my blog…

"will she ever show us pictures of her new house?"

"will she ever add mulch to her garden so she can show us pictures?"

"will she ever tell us about the jerk that sold her the trees?"

I finally have answers…yes. yes. and ooooooooooh yeah.  (At least I think I’m going to go into detail about the jerk at the landscape place, I haven’t totally decided, yet.)

But not right now.

The mulch was delivered, thanks to my friend and blog reader, Angie, who called me this morning and I had the mulch delivered this afternoon!!!  (thank you, Angie!!) which means we are mulching right now, as we speak.

Well, Brian is, right now I’m blogging and he’s dumping the mulch and I’m spreading it when I get done blogging, obviously I have my priorities straight.

Then tomorrow night I am hosting my Mommies group here and do you know what that means?!?!  I have to clean my house and don’t think for a second that I will not be taking tons of pictures after cleaning my house because I do not intend to clean again for a VERY, VERY LONG TIME and I need to capture it, while it lasts.  (which will be about 30 minutes, since I’ll wait until the very last minute to clean and everyone will arrive just moments after I have finished cleaning.  Procrastinate much?)  And the pictures will come in handy for when a neighbor drops by and sees the squalor we live in and I can be all like "yeah, but, see these pictures? it USED to be clean."

What does all this mean?  I’m busy!  Can’t blog!  But will soon!  With pictures!

And just to hold you over, I’m going to share some pictures for you that I took this weekend, while my sister-in-law and her family were visiting.  The beautiful girl in the shots is my niece and she’s very, very cute with a tiny, little girl voice.  oh and there’s other shots of crap thrown in, just for good measure.  Enjoy!

And here’s one of Ariel, before I leave (if you look closely, you can see where she cut her own bangs way back in June – sadly, she loves the way it turned out.)

Oh dear, I think Brian just flipped me off, I better get to work.

Date Night

November 16th, 2007

Tonight, Brian and I are going on a date, just the two of us!  I think the last time we went on a date it was to the flooring store to pick out our new floors.  I guess it wasn’t so much a date as it was an outing out without children to spend a ridiculous sum of money.  But it’s not the money spent I think of when I think of that night, it’s the fact that Brian and I went somewhere alone.

I think that is pretty sad.

So, tonight, we are heading out to dinner, we are going to have a glass of wine AND we are going to get some Christmas shopping done.

All. By. Ourselves.

While Grandma stays home with the chickens.

I happen to think she’s pretty lucky.

Last week in pictures…

November 4th, 2007

I took over 1300 pictures with my new camera last week, it was difficult to narrow it down to just these few, but I managed.

I love my camera.  But I also love my lens.

This is Racecar’s favorite sandwich.  I love that it’s his favorite sandwich.
