Hello, random.

By Beth

Let me just warn you, I’m going to just send you in about seven different places today, so don’t even bother taking your coat off and getting comfy in that chair.

Don’t you hate it when I do that?

Today we leave San Francisco.  We have a very late flight which does not excite me at all, but what does excite me is knowing that after tomorrow, my life resumes to normal…like really normal.  I don’t even know what to do with myself besides do the laundry and go grocery shopping.

oh wait.  that’s no fun.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who stopped by yesterday and left me a message or sent me an email or a tweet about Mother’s Day.  The day started out great, we had a great lunch and did all of the touristy things (except Alcatrez, after two beers and a huge burger with blue cheese and bacon, I was so not interested in a boat ride, thankyouverymuch.)  Anyway, some stuff happened that I will not go into detail about because it doesn’t matter, but it pretty much made the rest of my Mother’s Day not very good.

So, with tears in my eyes and a sad, sad heart, we went back to the hotel where I napped and we ordered pizza.  Oh the glamour.  Not exactly what I had planned for our last night in San Francisco, but if there is one thing I have learned in life is that you can’t plan everything.  Well, you can, but it won’t always work out as planned.

Oh and everyone who called me cute yesterday?  You are my new best friends.  Cute is not the usual word to describe me, usually it’s unfortunate or something like that, so I’ll take your compliments and sleep with them every night.

Today is a Brand New Day (<–click on that link and listen to that song on his website, k?) and I’m drinking Peet’s coffee and eating some sort of pumpkin bread thing before showering and packing and walking around a bit more.  I’m considering walking to Anthropologie because I have a sickness, but who knows what I’ll do.  No plans.

Anyway, onto the other things going on.

First, I have a winner for the Kodak All-in-One printer, the winner is Zakary.  Zakary is a girl and that is her real name which I think is incredibly awesome.  Congrats to her!  And I’m double crossing my fingers that she’ll win a trip to Blogher, too.  She has a wonderful blog, check her out.

Also, check out Stephanie’s new design.  I designed it and I love it. (is it okay to say that?  I hope so, because I love it.  A lot.)

I’ll be adding more photos to my print shop this week…I’ve heard lots of great feedback from customers, which is basically like someone giving me the biggest, warmest hug EVER.  If you ever see a photo of mine that you’d like in the print shop, just let me know and I’ll consider adding it!

Also, I designed this Etsy banner, Flying Needles, check that out, too.  And check out their items.  So much talent.

And finally, I’ve been adding San Francisco pictures over here, check them out!

See?  I told you not to sit down.

Prints. and stuff.

Thursday, April 30th, 2009
By Beth

I’m so surprised that I’m coming to you tonight to write here, but I just had to share some exciting stuff with you.

okay, maybe it’s just exciting for me, and that’s okay.  Just humor me.

I received my first shipment of prints from my first shop orders today and I have to tell you, I’M IMPRESSED!  I’m beyond impressed, I’m totally excited.  Some individuals purchased prints as large as 16×20 and WOW, those knock my socks off.  Brian and I stood over the prints, both of us in awe, I told him that I don’t think I ever need to buy another print that’s not my own ever again.  And that made him really happy because anytime I say “I don’t need” and “buy” in the same sentence, it pretty much makes his night.

Anyway, THANK YOU to all who supported the shop.  The shop is still open, I’m hoping to add new prints over the next week.  If you placed an order last week, your order will be shipped by Tuesday.  If you place an order this week, your order will be shipped the following Tuesday.

You can see the prints for yourself at the end of this post, sitting on my kitchen counter.  This shot is straight out of the camera, no editing involved.

LOVE.

Also, don’t be too disappointed, but there is no way I’ll be able to put together a post on editing photos by tomorrow, I had a very long, intense appointment with a doctor who specializes in pregnancy loss, which is pretty much the most depressing kind of doctor EVER.

The appointment literally lasted for hours and hours.  This has been in the works for about two months now and we finally were able to meet today.  I may elaborate more later, but right now I’m not sure how much I can or want to share.  It’s really, really personal.  Just know that today was a good day, and a sad day and a draining day.

Literally.  They took 18 vials of blood.

LITERALLY.

Blooming Business

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009
By Beth

Sometimes, when I’m driving, I’m so busy looking at the blooms and the green working so hard to show up, that I’m surprised I continue to drive straight on the road.

Sometimes, I don’t.  But that’s our secret.

Fragile Flower

I just wanted to pop in here to tell you a few pieces of VITAL information.  First of all, if you’d like a chance to win a Team James & Jake shirt, you can do so by simply leaving a comment here.  The giveaway ends tonight, although, since I’m in charge, I’ll extend it until tomorrow.

I like being in charge.

Bloom 8309

Secondly, my dear friend Christy is still hosting a giveaway from one of my prints in my shop, her giveaway ends on Saturday.

She’s a nice girl.

Also, if you make a purchase from my print shop, ALL of the proceeds will be donated to Team James & Jake.  I have already donated EIGHTY DOLLARS thanks to the sales that have already take place.  It’s so fun and so meaningful to see all of you shopping and some of you buying.

I love my shop and I’m so glad I did this.  All proceeds will continue to be donated through April 30th.

If you’d like to place an ad button on your blog for my print shop, you can do so by placing this button in your sidebars. (you guys are the best, I swear.)

If you’d like the code, just email me at foldinglaundry (@) GMAIL dot com.

Reaching
Team James and Jake has raised over $6,000. We are effing awesome.

Don’t you think?

And finally, I posted over here.

The Print Shop

Monday, April 20th, 2009
By Beth

I have decided to do something that I’ve considered doing for a very, very long time.  I probably would have continued just thinking about  it for the next few years except I had a great idea that if I rolled it out now, it could potentially benefit the March of Dimes and our walk this Sunday.  You know, should anyone be interested in such a thing.

And so, YESTERDAY, I started this project, and today I worked with my team of consultants (my friends) on the finishing touches and out came this project:

I Should Be Folding Laundry – The Print Shop.

isbfl-the-print-shop-ad

Essentially, it’s a collection of some of the photos I’ve taken since losing James & Jake that are now available as prints in my new Etsy shop.

Right now, for every purchase that is made until April 30th, ALL of the proceeds will be donated to Team James and Jake.  This is something that I’m excited about but also nervous about because really?  Is anyone ever going to buy anything…except that you just never know unless you try, so here I am…TRYING.  And I’m pretty excited about it.

So, head on over and come back and tell me what you think.  Your opinion really matters to me.  Be sure to check back as new images will be added soon.

Don’t forget about my most favorite giveaway ever!
