Hi friends!

I hope you had a great week.  This past weekend we visited a water park for three days, it was great fun and there was TONS of play but not a lot of pictures taking because of the water and also the lighting was TRICKY.  But I did my best.

Here’s Noah, playing with water.  Check out my settings, this was a serious low-light situation!  I wish I had lowered my aperture to 1.8.  Dangit.

This was near a set of doors at the waterpark.  Anna is a serious water park junkie going on every single water slide available many times.  She has an adventurer’s spirit.  I love it.

Here she is in between slides.

And this is what’s typically covering my kitchen floors.  Well, this and cheerios, blueberries and spaghetti.

Summer.

Capture what summer means to you before it’s over.  Is it a big bowl of watermelon?  Sweat dripping down your face?  The beach?  Fireflies?  Go out of your way to capture what you think of when you think of summer!

You Capture – Black & White

Hi everyone!

I loved this week’s challenge mainly because we could shoot whatever we wanted!  My family and I are going on a little trip next week, I’m hoping to sit and go through everyone’s entries as I lounge in a hotel room not worrying about laundry and mopping!  I CAN’T WAIT.

Here are my shots.  I just love the way you can change the photo to black and white and it instantly changes the mood of the photo.  Makes it more emotional, don’t you think?

This one was taken on a Sunday drive through the country.

Here are my two oldest babies.  Yes.  They are babies.

And here is yet another baby from my newborn shoot yesterday.  He is perfectly divine and I am finding that I REALLY love doing newborn shoots.

and I’m also finding that I want to have 9,000 more babies.  True story.

You Capture – Vehicles

Pardon my tardiness, I have a vehicle-sized headache and three children that are requiring truckloads of attention, so getting You Capture up has been a real challenge.  But luckily, Eli is sleeping and Anna and Noah are keeping themselves busy by drawing pictures of pizza (they take after their mother).

Did you have a great week photographing vehicles?  I hope so!

Here are my two shots.

We had seventy-five billion rocks delivered yesterday.  When I see this picture I think of back-breaking work, sweating to death in 95 degree weather and dollar signs being dropped onto our drive away.

Oh and also beautiful landscaping.  Yes, mostly that.

And then I was sitting at a stop light the other day, I saw two vehicles sitting, I grabbed my camera, set my settings, took a picture and then got honked at.  Geeze, some people have NO PATIENCE.  Can’t a girl take a photo of two random trucks at a busy intersection in peace?

You Capture – America

Posted by: Beth | Comments (36)
Jul 07, 2010

(or any country!)  There are no words to describe my love for the Fourth of July.  I have to say that it gets a lot of love from me because it’s in July.  We celebrated and celebrated and celebrated.  It was a good (and exhausting) weekend.

Here are my shots.  I had big visions of taking photos of farms and cornfields and our downtown areas which scream America! to me but I was apparently too busy eating s’mores and wiping watermelon juice off of my floors to make time to do that.  Next time, right?

Anna collected flags at the parade.  I finally had to tell her to stop once I pictured them scattered all over my house.  They are currently scattered all over my house.

Behind all of these cute children was a woman being pulled in some sort of chair with wheels.  I was pretty jealous of her.  Looked like fun.

America!

Those are my shots this week now it’s your turn to share!

Just a few simple rules before you link up:

1.  Anyone can join in on the challenge at anytime.
2.  Please make sure the photos you use were taken for the challenge, meaning do not search your archives for an appropriate photo.  The goal of You Capture is to get you out taking photos each week!
3.  Use YOUR photos.

Hi friends!  How was your week?  I loved having a choice this week – did you?  I knew from the start which one I would choose and I really enjoyed it.

I chose chair.

I had so much fun that this will be a future assignment.

This picture was taken yesterday at Brookfield Zoo.

a bench is a chair

This past weekend we were in Louisville, we went out for ice cream at my sister’s favorite ice cream shop, it’s called The Comfy Cow and it’s super, super cute and SO delicious.

It just so happened they hung chairs on their walls.  What are the chances?

chair on the wall

And for their general seating they had all sorts of different chairs.  I loved this one.

I love this chair

That’s it for me, now it’s your turn to share!

But first a few things:

1.  Anyone can join in on the challenge at anytime.
2.  Please make sure the photos you use were taken for the challenge, meaning do not search your archives for an appropriate photo.  The goal of You Capture is to get you out taking photos each week!

America. Let’s celebrate Independence Day!

Think outside the typical shot of the American flag, although those shots are certainly okay.  What does America mean to you?  Capture it and share with us!

I realize not everyone is from the United States, so please feel free to celebrate your nation and what it means to you in your post!
