You Capture | Shapes

October 8th, 2012

Hi friends. I’m sorry for my lateness. I’m afraid my life is getting a bit too busy for You Capture which is definitely not okay with me, especially since it’s one of the reasons why I actually post! Sooooo…I need to figure something out so I can continue with You Capture.

I hope you guys had fun capturing shapes. It’s absolutely crazy that shapes are all around us ALL of the time.

We celebrated Clara’s birthday this past weekend, it was lots of fun – we had two cakes, one for Clara and one for me, err…our guests.

And she also got some new toys. Like these cute giants coins. Which go nicely in her cute baby purse.

And these hung from our kitchen ceiling for the party. (and are still there, OOPS!)

That’s it for me, now it’s your turn to share!

You Capture | Something I Love

October 1st, 2012

It’s impossible for me to begin this post without talking about Clara because she turns ONE today! I can hardly believe it. I want to say more about what a sweet, beautiful girl she is but I’ll save that for a post about her first birthday! (but she really is a sweet and beautiful girl, we are so lucky.)

Anyway, she is definitely something I love. (poor little love isn’t feel well today and is of course, experiencing her first fever on her first birthday. BOOOOO!)

I also love Eli’s eyes. They’re my favorite. Sometimes when he’s sitting on my lap, facing me, talking to me about popsicles, scooters (he’s wicked good at riding scooters and he’s only two) and doggies I just stare at his eyes and can’t even focus on his words. So, I’ll ask him to repeat himself and he does but then I get lost in his eyes again. It’s not much fun for him but it’s totally fun for his Mama.

Last night I had a session at my client’s home. It was an amazing home, beautifully decorated. One of the things I loved specifically was that she used barn doors to open up to the bedroom. (she found the doors and her floors on Craiglist.) I’m thinking I need to go back and photograph her whole home to share with you guys. She actually owns a home store here in Northwest Indiana, you can see why. She has an amazing eye.

Here’s a shot of the doors open:

I definitely LOVED these doors

and last but not least, I love LOVE my iPhone case. I bought it back in May from Society 6 it has served me well until I dropped it on the garage floor and it cracked the screen (just up top, it’s not all that noticeable) Anyway, I’m realizing that this type of case is not necessarily the best protector so I think I need to find another one with a bit more padding since I drop my phone at least 319 times a week.

Either way, I love my case. (and the website where I purchased it, it’s one of my favorites, but beware, if you go there, you’ll get lost for hours!)

You Capture | Inside

September 25th, 2012

Hi friends,

I hope you guys had a great time capturing “inside.” I can’t wait to see what you guys came up with, I love what a broad topic this is. I’m certain we’ll all have something a little different!
Also, thanks for your patience with YC being a day late. My sister and I were out of town for a much needed break. Today it’s back to work!

Here are my shots.

I used my macro lens. I love the inside of her eye. the way you can see the window and the clouds in the sky.

For this shot, I have to credit Brian. He suggested shooting the inside of a Barbie house but I chose to shoot this girl inside a camper. Anna and her friend loved how I dressed her so much that they asked me to dress all of their Barbies. It was fun. Also, Barbie pants are TIGHT.

Bootless in Seattle

September 20th, 2012

It’s true, I’m bootless. But I’m not in Seattle. (sorry for the lie.)

I had an appointment on Tuesday and my doctor finally said I could take my boot off. It was such a relief, as soon as he said it visions of cute flats starting dancing around in my head. Also, not using velcro danced around in there, too.

Okay and maybe walking like a normal person or not using crutches to pee in the middle of the night or all sorta of various, beautiful things.

I haven’t been around much but that has little to do with the boot but has everything to do with leading an overly busy life and not taking any time whatsoever to do things that I love for myself. (I love and miss blogging, I really do.)

Next weekend, I’m heading to Triple W in Chicago – I feel very strongly that it’s going to help me integrate my personal life with my work life. I’m seeking balance and peace. Is that so much to ask? (if you decide to go to Triple W, tell me and we can’t sit by each other!)

Anyway. I’m alive, living, doing fun things, doing difficult things and all of it in two shoes.

You Capture | Flowers

September 17th, 2012

I hope you guys had a good time capturing flowers. I know I did. (this is one of my favorite challenges)

hanging on

Okay, wait. Are these weeds? Either way, they’re yellow and my favorite and EVERYWHERE.

I broke out my macro lens for this flower. I love how they turned out.
