Happy Fourth!
We took the kids to a parade yesterday. They definitely loved it. Brian and I enjoyed it too because we parked really close to where we sat which makes us happy because lugging all that junk food around gets tiring, you know what I mean?
Yes you do.
It was an interesting parade. Good, yes? Loud, crikey's yes. Hot? yeah. It was just kinda generic.
Look at Shrek and Dora.
I mean, I know we are working on a tight budget in here smalltown, Indiana, but Dora looks like she hasn't slept in days after letting Shrek cut her hair. Even the kids wouldn't go anywhere near the speechless creatures. Not only would they not go near them...they actually took steps back. Creepy, I say.
Then there was this. And I have no idea what it was or why or who, just pure confusion.
And finally, after reading this sign, you really wish there was such a thing as Markers with Spellcheck.
And here's proof of the tremondous amount of noise. If you look closely, you can see most of the people in the background covering their ears. good times.
And then it turned out to be the greatest Fourth of July ever. I can remember holidays as a child as being the greatest experiences. I had no idea they would be better as a parent.

OMGoodness! Shrek and Dora SCARE me!!!! Those poor kids!
Glad y'all had a great 4th!

I am just DYING... DYING I TELL YOU... if you were at the Portage parade then that was totally my cousin's sign about the pugs. Oh my gosh I can't stop laughing. We haven't been to the parades in a couple years- what is up? Scary stuff!

OMG I was laughing so hard at the first photo. Shrek and Dora were probably pretty ticked to wear full costumes in the July heat in addition to looking lame. They look a little dehydrated...
Glad you had a memorable 4th!

Very fun! And WHAT is up with those characters? EEEEEK! My kids were covering their ears at our parade too. I'm glad it turned out to be loads of fun.

Fun. Parades were so much fun when the kids were young! They enjoy the shorter ones now. The extra-long parades with several dozen bands and politicians just don't thrill them any more.

Shrek is creepy beyond words. Run, children, run! ha! ha!

Oh, that was a funny post! Shrek & Dora? She really should have considered standing next to someone taller. Oh, I'm just laughing like crazy over this!

The fact that Dora is approximately the same size as Shrek is SO wrong! It's as if they both took some Alice in Wonderland potion and went the opposite direction. Freaky!
And those parapalegic (or are they quad? - and no, I'm not being disrespectful) manequins? Well, I just don't think there are words to describe that display. Maybe you could make a strange face as a description. (?) :\

I haven't laughed like that in awhile after reading your post! Holy cow! Way too funny. Shrek and Dora were very scary indeed. Love the rest of the pictures. Good to hear you and the family had a great 4th.
