Winners Announced

We spent the entire morning watching preschool olympics.  The kids may have run around for three hours straight, but I took over 400 pictures and I am exhausted.  We had two showings scheduled tomorrow and both showings were second showings.  I just took a nap that ran a little bit too long, I woke up just in time for my realtor to call and tell me that one of the showings heard about the other showing and they now want to see our house in three hours.  Well, two hours and fifty minutes - so I am going to tell you about the winners and then I'll be back to this ol' blog sometime tomorrow because I have a messy house to clean!

Alright, the winner of my Americal Idol contest is Summer.  Summer guessed David Cook, she wins a blog makeover OR a $10 McDonald's gift card if she doesn't have a blog.  Which it doesn't appear that she does, so Summer (yahoo e-mail), you can give your makeover to someone who has a blog, or you can choose the gift card.  It's up to you!

The winner of the $50 Shabby Apple Gift Certificate is: Susan at Walking on Sunshine. Congratulations!

Summer and Susan, please e-mail me because you are winners!!  YEE-HAW!

I love learning new things about all of you.  I know you don't believe it, but I read each comment that comes through.  I couldn't help  but notice that many of you talked about mayonnaise, but that's okay, I like mayonnaise.   Well, Miracle Whip, I hate real mayonnaise.  Okay, must go clean so someone can look at my house for no reason since it's The House That Will Not Sell.

See you tomorrow.

Live Idol Blogging -- PROCEED WITH CAUTION

And so it begins....the ice cream is softening.  Holy crap, 97.5 million votes.  If you are reading this while I'm live blogging, feel free to chat with me in the comments.

OMG,  Mikalah, I hated her when she was on the show. and well, some things never change.

The final twelve are performing and I dread the moment when I see Danny Ortega.  I really do not like Danny Ortulega, or whatever his name is.  Wait.  Was he even in the final 12?  No, oh thank God!  It's Jacuzzi Chakezie!!  Hi Jacuzzi Chakezie!!

Cook is singing.  with Archie.  And I heard Seal is on the show and I CAN NOT FREAKIN' WAIT.  For those that do not know, I love Seal more than most things.  I LOVE Seal.  Am I getting my point across?

OH MY GOD.  A SEAL SONG.  SHUT UP SYESHA - DON'T SING HIS SONG.

THIS IS THE BEST IDOL EPISODE EVER EVER EVER.  GO SEAL.  SING WITH YOUR BAD SELF.  If you are not listening to Seal - you are missing out.  LOVE IT.  SORRY - but, I should be up there singing with Seal.  I would, too.  I would TEAR IT UP.  Syesha, please, be quiet.  Let the man sing.

Okay, Jason DreadLock is singing "Alleluia."  I do love this song.  It's beautiful.  But I feel like I'm having a deja vu, cause you know, HE HAS SUNG THIS BEFORE.  ON IDOL.  With dreadlocks.  It's all the same, friends.

Ford commercial.  I really enjoy these commercials, they're just fun.  And Ford just gave the Davids new cars.    And the final six girls are singing she works hard for the money and is it me or does Amanda Overmyer look pissed?  She kinda looks like one of the manniquin heads that girls get when they're little to play hair and make-up on.  She singing and OHMYGOD HOW DID SHE GET IN THE FINAL 12???

And why does Carly always wear black tights?

Carly Black Tights and Micheal Hotter than Hot are singing a duet.  Which is fine.  Jimmy Kimmel is on now.  Which is fine, too.  Maybe they could just make this a 15 minute show rather than two hours?    Jimmy looks tired.  Anyone who makes fun of Sanjaya is friend of mine.  And now the six guys are performing and I have to pee.

I am back and came back to see Bryan Adams singing.  I think I'll go pee again.  Seriously?  Bryan Adams?  Where's Chris Daughtry?

Wow -  ZZ Top.  Damn, those guys are HOT.  Those beards, the hats, the sunglasses, man alive I can hardly contain myself.  Are they going to spin their guitars???  I wonder if their guitars ever get caught in their beards??  Maybe tonight!

Remember Josiah?  He cried a lot.

Brooke is singing with Graham Nash and I love this song and I think it sounds great.  I could listen to this type of crap all night long.  Seriously.  That was really nice.

Who's going to go see Sex and the City with me next Friday?!?!?!

This guitar hero commercial is hilarious.  Cook is in his undies.  awesome.  I think I may finally like him.

The Jonas Brothers are on - Ariel is going to love watching this tomorrow and not just because of The Jonas Brothers but also because she loves Seal.  Just like her Momma.  Girls got taste.  But then again, she likes The Jonas Brothers.

Now they are showing the talentless singers during the auditions and they are truly terrible.  Shockingly terrible.  I love watching the judges - cracks me up.  And that crazy guy is singing with the USC marching band.  I actually like this song.  "I am your brother."  My Dad says he wrote this song and now Paula is on stage looking dumb.

One Republic is singing Too Late to Apologize, Ariel and I love this song and David A is singing with them and it sounds pretty good.  His eyes have been closed the entire time he's been on stage.

Is this over, yet?

Jordin Sparks is wearing gold foil.  She's cute though.  I wish I could pull off wearing gold foil.  We totally forwarded through her song.

Okay, this Gladys night thing with Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr is HYSTERICAL.   I love it.  LOVE IT.  Robert Downey is killing me.  Brian loves their bow ties.  I am watching this again tomorrow and maybe the next day.  LMAO!!

Carrie Underwood is performing, man, I just love her.  She's incredible.  Didn't Madonna wear that same outfit when she performed Like a Virgin at the Mtv Awards?

Guitar Hero commercial with David A.  Not as good as David C's, but still funny.

My Mom just yawned.  And then I did.  The top 12 is performing again.  George Michael song.  I like George Michael, but you knew that, didn't you?  Amanda Overmyer is going to kill me.  It's like she's crying into the microphone.

David Hernandez is singing a George Michael song, HOW FREAKIN' APPROPRIATE.  and he just sang the word naked in a sexy way.  I feel violated.

awww...HELLZ YES.  They are singing one of my favorite songs - FREEDOM!  I'm going to sing it for you sometime.

And George Michael is singing and well, he doesn't look well.  Those sunglasses are massive.  I could serve burgers on those bad boys.

He sounds good though.  And Paula is crying, which makes me want to punch her.  He's come a long way from the short white shorts.   Have you ever wondered why there was an extra go in Wake Me Up Before You Go Go?  or is it Go-Go as in go go dancing?  Did he just pick his nose-nose?

Season Seven is the official year of the Ascott.  Paula is talknzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.  Oh, that was a good nap.  Simon just apologized to David C.

And the winner is......

by twelve million votes.  Wow, it wasn't even close.

Well, you know who the winner was.

It was David.  Just like I predicted.

Randomly

I asked my Be Design partner, Christy, to create my header for me.  Which may seem strange considering I can make my own, except for some reason, I couldn't do my own.  It was too hard, so I quit and said "Oh, Christy, my love, would you please create my header for me and when you do, just do it in a way that shows me how you think of me."  and this is one of the images she chose.  Which I love.  I have to say that I was relieved, I thought she may come back with a header filled with cattle or dirty underwear.  But this is what she found and I love it.

A lot.  (you should go to Christy's blog to check out her designs from our first week of business.  THEY ARE ROCKIN'!)

and speaking of the fabulous Be Design girls, we are now offering blog makeovers for WORDPRESS.  HOORAY!  However, our wait time is right on the line between four and five weeks.  BOO!  But we move quickly!  HOORAY!

I'm glad some of you enjoyed my live blogging from last night, I may do it for tonight's finale, as requested, but right now I have a headache and fear it would make a very boring post.  Something like "Paula's dress is weird and David won."

Based on the comments, I think David Cook is going to win.  Seems everyone thinks David A. has it in the bag and because of that, everyone seems to be voting for David C.  I didn't vote at all.  Because, well.  I don't care.  I really don't.  I enjoyed this season, but there was nobody that I LOOOOVED.  I tried voting for Chris Daughtry but his wife kept hanging up on me every time I called.  She can be so rude to his girlfriend, I swear.

Oh, and I blogged over here today.  It's pretty depressing, so click at your own risk, and if you click, make sure you comment because nothing sends me into a depression quicker than seeing hundreds of people visiting my other blog when I'm pouring out my heart and three people comment.  Just keepin' it real.

And finally, I believe I have eaten two boxes of Bug Bites since Sunday.  And I can't even hide that fact from Brian because he's the one who keeps buying them at the store.  Makes it pretty obvious.

In fact, he's at the store right now.  Buying more Bug Bites.  Interestingly enough, when I googled Bug Bites, the cookies did not come up, but rather pictures of bug bites.  ew.

Me and my headache have to go hide under the covers for awhile, I hope I'm back tonight for more live blogging.  I can make no promises.

American Idol - Final Two *Live Blogging*

I'm sitting in my living room with Brian, my Mom and My Dad.

And a bowl of Coldstone Creamery ice cream.

Some silver fox is introducing and saying something about rumbling.  It's a good thing a girl isn't in the final two when they are announcing their weights.

Brian just said 52% of people who watch American Idol are between the ages of 34-62.

Didn't Randy have gastic bypass?  I'm just sayin'.  Huh...I didn't realize neither one had been in the bottom three.  That's interesting.

I'm done with my ice cream.  It was good like a mug.

Oh, dear, we are asking Paula for advice.  How very, very scary.  So, let me just say that David Cook kinda gets on my nerves.  There - it's out in the open.  Not that I love David A. because, well, I don't.  This live blogging is good for me because I do not have strong feelings for either boy.  In fact, come to think of it -- I don't think I have had strong feelings for any contestant.

Clyde Green Tie has picked I Still Haven't heard Found What I'm Looking For by U2 for David Cook.  I LOVE U2.  Like a lot.  My favorite U2 song is So Cruel.  It's one of the greatest songs evuh.  David is breaking it down, tearing it up, he's sounds pretty nice.   But NOT great. It was good but not special.  Randy says "HOT BABY."  Paula says "blah blah blah blah." her voice is cracking.  Puberty much?  Simon says "touch your nose."  Just kidding, he said phenomenal.  Was it?  Really?

David Archuleta is signing Don't Let The Sun Go Down on Me.  I think he sounds pretty good.  He kinda tore it up at the end, which is good because he never does and he always, ALWAYS sounds the same but this time, he sounded good.  Real good.  Round one goes to David A.  Randy says "best performance of the whole season.  MOLTON. CRAZY VOCALS."  Is he crying?  Paula says "blah blah blah blah sunshine blah.  blah."  Simon says "the best you've done so far."  Seriously.  Is David crying?  Simon just said what I said about Round One going to David A.  He's a copycat.

Round Two.  I'm a little too wordy.  I realize this.  I happen to adore Andrew Lloyd Webber and the way he talks and everything he says.  I would like to have him over for dinner.  I would serve spaghetti.

Okay, David C. sings lsjgjalwdjfajd, okay, I have no idea, I was busy writing about eating spaghetti with ALW.   Is David C trying to sound like my boyfriend, Chris Daughtry?  Because I will cut him if he keeps this up.  I was not feeling this song and he was yelling a lot.  My Dad liked it.  So, apparently a viewer wrote that song.  Randy said he was singing his face off.  Paula said "blah blah blah blah song in your heart blah blah."  Simon says, "jump up and down."  It never gets old people.  He did not really like his performance and the crowd boos.  As usual.

David A. sings a ballad.  I can't believe it, he is singing a ballad.  He is really changing things up this week. (please tell me you can sense my sarcasm?)  He has anchors on his blazer. Sport coat?  He sounded good, strong.   Is he crying.  again?  He looks like it.  Paula says "magic.  blah.  finals.  blah blah."  Simon says Round 2 goes to David A.

Round Three begins.  David C picks a song by Collective Soul, "The World I Know."  He starts out acoustic.  There is no doubt that he has a great voice with a ton of talent.  He sounds great, but this song seems just a little bit boring.  Am I wrong?  Do you love it?

oh dear.  He's crying.  Doesn't Randy's face look purple tonight?   Paula says that David Cook is "standing in his truth.  blah blah.  huh? blah?"  Simon says it was the wrong song choice.

David A. sings Imagine.  Didn't he play the piano the last time he sang this?  He sang it well.  Just like the last time.  Yep, Randy is purple.  Paula says she's speechless but she won't stop talking.  Simon says "knockout."  I just wish David A would genuinely smile and not look like he's going to cry all of the time.

Well, it's over.  that's it.  Who do I think is going to win?

That's easy.

David.  Who do you think is going to win?

Bitter Betty has arrived.

Don't you just love it when I blog thirty-nine times in one day?  Hey, it's CHEAP therapy.  I am all over CHEAP therapy.

I have decided to live blog American Idol tonight.  Except it won't be live as it will be on my DVR and I plan to watch it tonight but I may watch it tomorrow.  or never.  I don't know.

Last year I live blogged all season long, but this season, not so much.  So, feel free to come back tonight and read my thoughts about David and David and Ryan and Simon and Randy and Stupid.

Listen, I gotta be honest with you.  I am experiencing a period from hell.  Backache, headache, cramps, fattiness, crankiness, hunger, stupidity and freakin' fatigue.  I have it all.  And well, it puts me in the worst mood, not just because of the stupid symptoms but because I SHOULD NOT BE HAVING A PERIOD RIGHT NOW.

I should be pregnant and fat and uncomfortable with swollen ankles and hearburn.

NOT EXPERIENCING THE PERIOD FROM HELL.

And to top it all off?????????????  I have a showing at my house, a.k.a.  The House that People Look at 5,000 Times a Week, in ninety minutes.  My house may as well be a museum, it's always clean and nosey people come in way too often and just look and pass judgement.

But hey, I took a pain killer, so I'll either not care what the house looks like or just sleep right through the showing.  Either one sounds good to me.

See you tonight.

or not.

Signed,
The Grouchiest Person on the Planet

P.S.  It took every ounce of strength and self control to not drop the f-bomb forty times in this post.  That's how much I love those of you who don't care for it.  But I'm screaming it in my head.  Over and over and over again.

P.S. again.  Is my blog taking forever to load for you?  or is it just me?

Shabby Apple Giveaway

I am so excited about this giveaway, mainly because I get to give something away to one of my readers and I happen to love and adore my readers, so it's EXTRA fun for me to have a giveaway.

Especially this giveaway.

Logo_2 I am giving away a $50 gift certificate to Shabby Apple.  If you haven't seen their product line, you must go check it out.  Everything is so very trendy, yet simple.  I love it all.  So, when they approached me and I visited their site, I couldn't refuse.  Just look at their stuff!

I am already jealous of the person who wins this giveaway - between the bags and the bracelets and the dresses - I could spend the entire day on their website.  Seriously, any business that says "Rock Your Frock" has my approval.  LOVE IT.

So, here's how you win:
On this post and THIS POST only, tell me something about you in the comments.  You must tell me something about you, it could be that you've never traveled outside of your state or that you love grape jelly (which I think is gross, by the way) but you must tell me something.  Saying "enter me" will only disqualify you.  Sorry - I know the rules are tough, but I want to learn more about you and this is how I can!

I look forward to learning more about you.  Feel free to tell me as much as you want.  I'm listening.

The comments will be closed Wednesday night at 7:00 P.M. CST and I will draw the winner from the entire lot of comments.   I will announce the winner of this contest and the American Idol blog makeover contest on Thursday.

Good luck.

(yes, I know I've asked you to tell me something about you before, but it was so much fun, I wanted to do it again to learn more.  Tell me something new.  I tell you something new all of the time!  It's your turn, baby.)

May 14, 2008

It's called "Variety", my dear.

Racecar has taken to calling me, my dear.  "Thank you, my dear.  Sleep good, my dear.  Bless you, my dear."

I love it so much, I can hardly take it.  That is just one of the sweet things going on in my life right now.

Be Design appears to be a success.  Thank you to so many of you who promoted Be Design on your blogs, no wonder I see you all as my friends.  We have a waiting list and are constantly adding designs to our portfolio, so feel free to head back and take a peek, whenever you'd like.  Despite our waiting list, we are still accepting new clients - the 50% off discount expires tomorrow.  The sooner you get on the list, the sooner your blog gets a makeover.  We love making blogs lovely.

I'm just going to send you to a few other places and come back tonight to answer the remaining questions you have asked me.  At least that's my plan.  Maybe I'll come back tonight and write about my new laptop or Teddy Grahams or admit to the masses that the clicking on the guitar in Guitar Hero drives me batty and makes me want to flush it down the toilet.  One can never tell what the day holds.

I hope it's good stuff.

Here's some good stuff for you...I blogged over here today.

And Lisa is having a Starbucks giveaway, all you have to do is check out her new header and tell her what you think and you are entered.  EASY.

And how much do you want to bet that one of the Davids will be voted off today?

This may be the most scattered post I have ever written.  I do apologize.  But I'll see you tonight.  With more order.

Maybe.

In over my head (and a contest!)

For the first time in what feels like forever, I am in over my head.  And it's not a negative thing, I have some very exciting things going on in my life right now and between that and blogging and cleaning my house and working and you know, mothering, I have darn right run out of time.

So, it's time for me to take a teeny-tiny blogging break - just a little one, see how I'm holding up my fingers?  It's small, right?

I'll be back tomorrow, maybe Friday.  But I will back, you can count on that.  If you have e-mailed me, please forgive me, I will be checking and responding to your e-mails during this blog break o' mine.

In the meantime, I do have a post up here, feel free to read, but only if you have cereal stuck to your kitchen floor, dust on your end tables and crumbs in your carpet, it's important for you to relate, you know.

Look!  A contest!
I need you to tell me who you think is going to win American Idol.  Anyone who guesses correctly will be entered to win a free blog makeover.  If you just redid your blog, never fear, you will get six months to claim your prize.  Remember, you must guess who will win the entire thing.  You can guess until next Monday, May 12th, the comments will be turned off at 10:00 p.m. CST.  The winner will be drawn after the finale on May 21st.  If you do not have a blog, I will send you a $10 gift card to McDonald's or you can give the free makeover to your fave blogger.

oh and if you don't watch Idol, maybe you should start? or go here and take a wild guess on who is going to win.  (but don't guess Jason Castro - because he's gotsta go. oh and don't guess Syesha or David A, either.  I'm just sayin', dawg.)

oh and don't listen to me because I am always wrong.  I thought Guliani had the presidency in the bag, man.  (I didn't really, geeze - I told you not to believe anything I am saying.)

oh and leave your guess on this post and THIS POST ONLY.

oh and make sure your e-mail is valid, ai'ght?

oh, if you vote for David.  Please tell me which David.

oh and ....oh, I guess that's it.

Longwinded and Totally Random

Hashimoto's Disease - It appears as though my Hashimoto's is rearing it's ugly head again.  I had blood work done just days before losing the twins and the results showed that my levels were a little off.  I had a doctor's appointment two weeks ago about my thyroid but since my body's hormone levels are totally out of whack, we can't really take any type of action with medication.  I have a blood test scheduled to test my thyroid levels and my iron levels in two weeks.  I have been very, very tired, no matter how much sleep I have been getting, the type of tired I feel when my thyroid has dropped, which is very, very tired.  (am I getting that point across?)

Good Food - Would you believe people are still providing meals for us?  And what have I learned from everyone's generosity?  That I need to improve on my cooking skills.  For the past two weeks, Lynette has arranged for the Moms in our Mommy's Group to bring meals to our home and it has been incredible.  Everything has been so delicious.  And now, this week, my cousin, who owns a business making dinners, has provided dinners for us this week.  The sad part is that all of the dinners end this week, which means I'll be in charge of making dinners for us next week, it's back to the land of spaghetti and Schwan's chicken.

The Laundry - Since my Mom and my sister keep folding our laundry, I realize I'm not very good at folding laundry either.  I think I already knew that, though.

My Closet -  This past weekend my sister, Sarah, came to visit and she helped me clean out my closet which was filled with maternity clothes.  Completely and totally filled with maternity clothes.  Every time I walked into my closet I was filled with sadness and dread.  Back in January, when we were preparing our house to go on the market, I packed all of my non-maternity clothes into boxes and we put them into storage, thinking that when we moved I would unpack those regular clothes after my pregnancy.  I never though for a second that it would not happen that way.  This weekend, Brian went back into storage and pulled out my regular clothes and we washed them and put them back into my closet.  And when I say "we" I mean "Sarah" because this was one task that I just has to remove myself from completely.

Showings - This past weekend we also had three showings.  It was a very busy weekend.  Maybe that's why I'm so tired???

American Idol -  Despite everything, we have been watching American Idol, it's the one and only show we watch every week and I have to say, I love this season.  I also have to say that I can't stand to watch Amanda Overmeyer perform, it's like nails on a chalkboard.  And I really would like to see her leave, I know she's a Hoosier n' all, but I just can't stand the voice, the hair, the leg shaking and the occasional tongue sticking out after a performance.  Makes me crazy.  Am I alone?  So far I have been very pleased with who has been sent home each week, let's see if it continues...

E-mails - So many of you have sent me a personal e-mail and I wish I could respond to all of them, but I just can't.  Mainly because it's just too hard, however, I have read every single e-mail that has come through and every single one touches me and means so much.  I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to send me an e-mail and sharing your condolences, stories and insight with me.

California - Brian is booking our trip right now as we speak.  Thank you to everyone who encouraged me to go.  I'm sure it's going to be a very, very good thing.

Finally, thank you so much to everyone who has made a donation to our walk honoring James and Jake and Lydia, everyone's generosity has been mind blowing, it's truly something that I lay in bed and think about the fact that there are so many kind, loving, caring individuals out there, who want to help make a difference.  So, thank you, thank you so very much.  And thank you to the individuals who have joined our team or formed a team in their area honoring the twins, there are no other words, just thank you from the bottom of our hearts.   We are in awe.

400

We finally finished watching the season finale of American Idol.  I was terribly disturbed by the amount of Sanjaya that I saw tonight, but I was even more disturbed that he was singing with Joe Perry, from Aerosmith, which is a band I love.

In the beginning of the season, the show would get cut off every week by Tivo, so we'd miss the last minute or so.  Finally, I created a two minute buffer, because God forbid you miss that last minute of the poor voted off person singing their Final Ballad.  I should have taken notice last night when my boyfriend's performance was cut off.  But I didn't take notice and yes, I am an idiot, because after watching the finale for two hours and two minutes, Tivo ended the show and we did not get to see won.  Two minutes after the show was supposed to end and it still hadn't ended.

Can I just talk about how irritating that is?  I mean, it wasn't that big of a deal because I can go to www.anywebsiteanywhere.com and find the winner, but STILL, are they just milking the whole two hours and then some for advertisements??  C'mon, end it on time, already!

By the way, this is my 400th post.  WOOT.  HOOT.  HOLLA.
